About the Company:

This is a well-established, family-owned specialty chemical manufacturer located in the Greater Birmingham area; they've been around for 60+ years and have been steadily growing over the past several years. The incumbent was just promoted into the plant manager role and while this role might not be necessarily a back-fill of his role, this is an additional engineering role the company would like to add to their team. 80-person plant.

About the Role:

This person will oversee a small engineering team within a PSM-regulated specialty chemical manufacturing site. This role would be ideal for a senior process engineer who is looking for that first opportunity to move into a supervisory role. Little to no travel associated with this role.

Key Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering required.
Approximately 6 to 12 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, process engineering, production engineering, or a closely related industrial environment.
Background in batch or continuous chemical processing preferred; relevant pharmaceutical manufacturing experience may also be considered. Must have previous OSHA PSM experience.
Hands-on engineering mindset with the ability to stay close to the process, troubleshoot plant issues, and drive practical improvements.
Able to lead engineers while still contributing technically to process optimization, project execution, troubleshooting, and day-to-day manufacturing support.
Strong cross-functional communication skills with operations, maintenance, quality, controls/automation, and plant leadership.

Compensation: $125,000 - $145,000
